Battery Life

Saving the Life of your MacBook Battery. When you are not using your computer, you can put it in sleep mode to save battery life. You should always shut down your computer at the end of the day AND when you store your laptop in your locker. Don't forget that dimming our screen helps save battery power. Games, Java, and animated desktop wallpaper deplete your battery life.

Save Time and Bookmark Sites: All students should bookmark our MEH website, the new Schoology site, & our grade book site. Doing this will save you a ton of time each day.

Self Service: Do you need to update software or apps on your MacBook?

Self Service is a great tool. You log in with your laptop credentials, and you can download tools or updates that are necessary. If you need a QR reader, log into Self Service and download.

Personalize your Desktop and Screensaver

d. You are allowed to change the desktop image and screensaver as long as it isn't distracting or inappropriate. Personalize your dock by putting your most frequently used tools within easy reach.

Digital Safety- Your Digital Footprint

Your Digital Footprint leads to your Personal Brand.

Your digital footprint is made up of information that is collected by websites AND a collection of information that you create by posting pictures and comments on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, youtube or any other social media site. Your footprint is hard to erase so be sure that make wise decisions about what you post and share. You never know who may see your digital footprint.

Before you post, share, tweet, blog make sure you think.

  • Is it True?
  • Is it Kind?
  • Who can see it?
  • Are you revealing too much about yourself?
  • Could someone misinterpret what you are saying?

Just like Nike, North Face, and Hollister work on their brand through advertisements, everything you post on social media impacts your personal brand. Think before you post so that you will always be proud of your personal brand. How do you want to be known?

Students can select edit then auto-flip new items for pictures with words to turn out right.

Google Drive

The new Google Drive is the same Google Drive you know and love, just faster and works more like you're used to on your computer. You can:

  • Create, add, or upload a file with a single button.

  • Find and add files shared with you more easily.

  • Single-click a file to select it and double-click a file to open it.

  • Drag-and-drop files and folders just like you do on your desktop.

Help yourself stay organized by making folders for each class AND saving files that teachers share with you. Be careful about sharing files. You don't want to accidentally share them with the wrong person.
